Jun 23, 2014 'The Drowsy Chaperone' is a show-within-a-show homage to Broadway and its musicals, especially those of the 1920s. I have not seen the show but this CD makes me want to. It doesn't try to be anything profound or message-laden. It's songs are fun, easy on the ears, and deceptively simple. Problems downloading? Quick request - I recently played a run of 'The Drowsy Chaperone' for a local high school. They were nominated for some awards and want to perform one of the numbers at the awards ceremony; however, we no longer have the music. If anyone should happen to have a copy of 'Toledo Surprise', Reed 1 and/or Reed 3 book, I'd be most grateful.
As an aside, from a pit musician perspective, The Drowsy Chaperone is a great show to play - the music is fun, and it's one act with no intermission so you're out in just over an hour and a half.
